Archived edition. This comparison is a snapshot of March 2026. It stays online because links already point here, and it was revised on 11 August 2026 to correct what aged badly. If you are arriving now, read the 2027 edition instead, which carries a rebuilt lineup.
What changed since publication: GuiaBolso no longer exists, having shut down in November 2022; Organizze raised its prices and has had no free tier since January 2022; Mobills launched a WhatsApp AI assistant, which ended the exclusivity Monely held on that feature; and the Monely FREE plan gained unlimited accounts, with the monthly record limit ending in September 2026.
With so many options available, choosing the right app to track spending can feel overwhelming. Each application takes a different approach – some bet on simplicity, others on automation, and others on artificial intelligence.
To help with that decision, we compared 5 of the top personal finance apps available in 2026. We analyzed features, platforms, languages, what each plan includes, and overall user experience. The result is this detailed comparison, ranked from #5 to #1.
How We Evaluated
To ensure a fair comparison, we used 7 objective criteria with equal weight:
| Criterion | What we evaluated |
|---|---|
| Features | Variety and depth of tools offered |
| Ease of use | Learning curve and overall user experience |
| Platforms | Number of supported devices and operating systems |
| Internationalization | Available languages and multi-currency support |
| Plans | Billing model and what the free and paid plans include |
| Privacy | Presence of ads and monetization model |
| Innovation | Unique features and use of new technology |
Transparency notice: this comparison is published by Monely, which is one of the apps being evaluated. Keep that in mind when reading the ranking, and check each app’s own information before deciding.
Comparison Table
Before diving into the details, here is a quick side-by-side overview. Where a cell reads “not found”, here is what happened: we looked for the feature on the maker’s official pages on 11 Aug 2026, website and store listing included, and found no mention of it. We did not install the apps to test them, so if the feature exists elsewhere in the product, we did not locate it.
Subscription prices are not in this table. Every store charges a different amount in every country and raises it without notice, so any figure printed here would already be wrong for a good share of the people reading it. What the table compares is the billing model and what each plan delivers. The price in force where you live is on each app’s own plans page, and for Monely at monely.app/en/pricing or on the plans screen inside the app.

#5 GuiaBolso – Focus on Open Banking
Correction, 11 August 2026: GuiaBolso no longer exists. The app was shut down in November 2022, after PicPay, which had bought the company in 2021, folded its tools into its own app (Money Times, 28 Oct 2022). The text below describes the product as it was, and stays here as a record. Do not go looking for GuiaBolso. The 2027 edition ships with a different lineup.
GuiaBolso was one of the pioneers in automatic bank integration in Brazil. Using Open Banking, it imported transactions from your bank and categorized spending automatically, without requiring any manual input from the user.
Key Features
- Automatic synchronization via Open Banking with Brazilian banks
- Automatic categorization of imported transactions
- Proprietary financial health score
- Personalized credit recommendations
- Partner financial product offers
Plans
- Free: Basic features with ads and product recommendations
- Premium: Advanced features with restricted access
Pros
- Automates expense tracking via bank connection
- Financial score helps understand overall financial health
- Automatic categorization saves time
- Works well for anyone who wants a consolidated view without effort
Cons
- Available only in Portuguese
- No multi-currency support
- No receipt OCR or AI assistant
- Limited to mobile (no robust web version)
- Business model based on financial product recommendations, which can create conflicts of interest
- No shared accounts or features for couples
- Dependent on bank adoption of Open Banking
Who is it ideal for
GuiaBolso works well for anyone who wants to track spending passively, without manually logging transactions. It is a solid entry point for people who have never used a finance app before.
#4 Organizze – Focus on Simplicity
Organizze bets on minimalism. Its clean and straightforward interface makes it an attractive option for anyone just starting to organize their finances who does not want to deal with complex features.
Key Features
- Simple and intuitive interface with clean design
- Basic income and expense tracking
- Pre-defined categories for quick classification
- Simplified reports with basic charts
- Bill payment reminders
Plans
Correction, 11 August 2026: when this article shipped, it said Organizze had a free tier with ads. That was wrong. The free version was discontinued in January 2022, and the lineup is now three paid tiers, verified on the official plans page on 11 August 2026. The figures are not reproduced here because they change without notice, and because Organizze bills in Brazilian reais only: check the official page.
- Trial: 7 days on the Manual tier, no credit card required. There is no permanent free tier.
- Manual: the entry tier, monthly or annual, instalments available. No bank connection.
- Conectado: adds the bank connection, up to 3 accounts or cards.
- Conectado Plus: up to 10 accounts or cards, business accounts included.
Pros
- Extremely easy to use – almost zero learning curve
- Clean and lightweight interface without visual overload
- No advertising at all, since the model is entirely paid
- The Conectado tiers import bank transactions in one click
- Has an Artificial Intelligence feature, flagged as new on the official plans page: it categorises on its own and scans receipts
- Good for anyone who just wants the basics done well
Cons
- We found no WhatsApp assistant in any official source
- The page does not say which tier the Artificial Intelligence belongs to, nor what the receipt scan extracts
- No shared accounts or features for couples
- Only 1 language available (Portuguese)
- A single currency: the help center says the only currency available today is the Brazilian real
- No free tier: after the 7-day trial you either pay or lose access
- Limited features compared to the other apps
Who is it ideal for
Organizze is perfect for anyone who wants simplicity above all else. If you only need to log income and expenses without complications, it does that job well – but it may feel limiting as your financial needs grow. Its single language, Portuguese, is a drawback for English-speaking users.
#3 Wallet by BudgetBakers – Focus on Global Coverage
Wallet, by BudgetBakers, is the most international app in this comparison. The company claims connections to more than 15,000 financial institutions worldwide and around 50 languages, which serves a global audience in a comprehensive way.
Correction, 11 August 2026: the original version of this article understated the language count and attributed to Wallet a currency count that actually belongs to Monely. Bank coverage and languages above were verified on the BudgetBakers Bank Sync page and on the company’s home page on 11 August 2026. Wallet publishes no currency count: its official pages describe support for multiple currencies without saying how many, so no figure appears here. The same review dropped three other unsupported claims: the price in euros, which no official page publishes, since budgetbakers.com/pricing/ returned 404 on the same date; the ads on the free plan, which we did not find asserted in any official source; and the coverage “in dozens of countries”, since BudgetBakers measures coverage in institutions, not in countries.
Key Features
- Automatic bank sync with more than 15,000 institutions; BudgetBakers publishes the total, never the list, so check your own bank in the app before subscribing
- Around 50 languages; support for multiple currencies, with no published count
- Investment and debt tracking
- Detailed budgets with financial goals
- Category spending limits, with an alert as you approach the limit
- Advanced reports and customizable charts
Plans
- Free: not verified in an official source. Neither the BudgetBakers pages nor the store listing told us what the free plan includes, or whether it shows ads
- Premium: BudgetBakers keeps no public pricing page, and budgetbakers.com/pricing/ returned 404 on 11 Aug 2026. What exists sits in the in-app purchases on the Brazilian App Store listing, read the same day: three items named simply Premium, with no billing period stated, plus a three-year Premium and a lifetime Premium, both as a single payment. With no public page, the figure that applies to you is whatever your own store shows
Pros
- Best bank synchronization in this comparison: more than 15,000 institutions, as declared by BudgetBakers itself, bearing in mind that the coverage is counted in institutions, not in countries
- Widest language coverage in this comparison, around 50, as declared by BudgetBakers itself
- Highly customizable and detailed budgets
- Truly global presence
Cons
- No public pricing page: the figures show up only as in-app purchases, and they change from country to country
- Ads on the free plan: not verified in an official source, neither to assert it nor to rule it out
- We found no WhatsApp assistant in any official source
- We found no income-proportional expense splitting in any official source
- Interface can be too complex for beginners
- The app does not read receipt photos, according to the BudgetBakers help center; for that you need to connect an external AI assistant through MCP
Who is it ideal for
Wallet is the best choice for anyone who manages finances across multiple countries. The global bank synchronization makes it a powerful app. As for cost, there is no public pricing page: the figures show up only as in-app purchases and they change from country to country, so check yours before subscribing. BudgetBakers publishes how many institutions it connects to, never which ones, so check your own bank in the app before subscribing.
#2 Mobills – Focus on Traditional Tracking
Mobills is one of the most established finance apps on the market, with millions of downloads and years of operation. Its approach is traditional but solid: detailed manual tracking with strong reports.
Key Features
- Detailed manual income and expense tracking with categories and subcategories
- Bank statement import in OFX and spreadsheet import, per the help center
- Monthly budget planning with per-category goals
- Detailed tracking reports and charts
- Automatic bank integration through Open Finance, on the paid plan
- Educational financial content within the app
- Available in 6 languages, per the Brazilian App Store listing
- WhatsApp AI assistant on the PRO tier, which understands natural language, categorizes spending, and sends reminders and summaries in the chat
Plans
Correction, 11 August 2026: the original article carried a monthly figure the company no longer charges. A tier above Premium also appeared, PRO, which did not exist when this comparison was written. The lineup was re-checked on the official page on 11 August 2026.
- Free: Limited features with ads
- Premium: an annual subscription, the only billing period the company publishes on a fixed page
- PRO: everything in Premium plus the WhatsApp AI assistant, with a 7-day trial. The figure varies by campaign and is not published on a fixed page
Pros
- Well-established app with a large user base and active community
- OFX statement import makes bank reconciliation easier
- Detailed reports and well-designed charts
- Integrated educational content helps beginners learn about personal finance
- Mature and stable interface with few bugs
Cons
- We found no income-proportional expense splitting in any official source
- Ads on the free plan
- Only 6 languages on the Brazilian App Store listing
- One currency at a time: the help center says you cannot track accounts in different currencies simultaneously
- We found no receipt photo capture in any official source
- The WhatsApp assistant sits on PRO, a step above Premium, and that step is not priced on a stable public page
Who is it ideal for
Mobills is a solid choice for anyone who prefers traditional manual tracking with strong reports. It is a mature, reliable app with a strong community. Since the PRO launch it is no longer true that it “lacks innovations in automation and AI”: the WhatsApp assistant exists and works. For Americans used to apps like Mint or YNAB, Mobills offers a familiar budgeting approach with category-based goals and detailed charts.
#1 Monely – Focus on Innovation and AI
Monely takes the top spot in this comparison by combining, in one product, a WhatsApp assistant powered by artificial intelligence, advanced OCR with Gemini Vision, and proportional expense splitting for couples and families.
Correction, 11 August 2026: this passage used to say those features were exclusive, “that no other app currently provides.” That stopped being true for the WhatsApp assistant: Mobills launched a PRO tier with a WhatsApp AI assistant. For income-proportional splitting the wording changed too: we found that calculation in no official source of the other apps in this comparison, which is not the same as saying that none of them does it.
Key Features
- WhatsApp AI Assistant – Send a message like “lunch 15 dollars” via WhatsApp and the transaction is automatically created with the correct category, amount, and date. Works with text, voice messages, and receipt photos.
- Receipt OCR with Gemini Vision – Take a photo of any receipt and the app extracts the amount, date, description, and suggests the category automatically. Uses Google’s Gemini Vision technology.
- Proportional Splitting for Couples and Families – Shared groups where expenses are split based on each person’s income, instead of splitting equally. If one partner earns $80,000 and the other earns $50,000, contributions are calculated proportionally.
- Android, iOS, and the Browser – Native apps for Android and iOS. On a computer, Monely runs in the browser at web.monely.app.
- 8 Languages, 155 Currencies, and Bitcoin – Relevant international coverage.
- Zero Ads – No advertisements on any plan, including the free tier.
- Data Import – Direct importers for the files exported by Wallet (BudgetBakers), Minhas Finanças, Money Manager, Bluecoins, and Splital. Coming from any other app, you import a spreadsheet in CSV, TSV, XLS, or XLSX, or a bank statement in OFX or QFX.
Plans
- Free: unlimited records and accounts, your own categories and subcategories, labels, templates, goals, charts, credit card with statement closing, a shared group and cloud backup, zero ads
- ESSENTIAL: everything in Free, plus scheduled payments, card instalment purchases and loan tracking
- PRO: everything in ESSENTIAL, plus the daily AI-written insights, the WhatsApp assistant, Monely in the browser at web.monely.app, attaching a receipt to a record and logging investments
- Family: everything in PRO, shared with up to 3 other people in the same shared group, 4 licences in total
What separates the plans is features, not volume: there is no record cap on any of them. A new account starts with a bonus of 100 records of its own, rising to 200 with one referral and 500 with five, and while the bonus lasts the experience is the PRO one. The amount charged for each subscription is set by the store and differs by country, so it lives at monely.app/en/pricing and on the plans screen in the app, always in your own currency.
Pros
- WhatsApp assistant with conversational AI, included in the PRO and Family plans
- Receipt OCR with advanced technology (Gemini Vision)
- Proportional expense splitting for couples and families, a calculation we found in no official source of the other apps in this comparison
- Usable on the phone (Android and iOS) and on the computer through the browser
- Zero ads on all plans
- Direct data import from Wallet, Minhas Finanças, Money Manager, Bluecoins, and Splital, plus statements and spreadsheets from anywhere else
- Card instalment purchases: you enter the purchase once, choose the number of instalments, and see the month-by-month preview and how much of the card limit it takes up
- Strong value for money on the paid plan
Cons
- No automatic bank sync, and none is planned: it is a product decision, not a missing feature. Unlike Wallet, you cannot connect any bank account automatically. Logging happens by WhatsApp message, receipt photo, by hand, or by importing a file
- No category budgets with spending limits, by choice
- On the free plan, the WhatsApp assistant works only while the welcome bonus lasts; after that it requires PRO or Family
- About 50 of the 155 currencies use a central bank daily reference rate rather than a market rate updated through the day
- Fewer languages than Wallet (8 vs ~50)
Who is it ideal for
Monely is the best choice for anyone who wants to log expenses as fast as possible and values innovation. The WhatsApp AI eliminates the friction of manual entry, and proportional splitting makes the app especially strong for couples. The absence of ads is a significant bonus. If you are tired of apps that interrupt your experience with banner ads or upsell screens, Monely’s clean approach stands out.
Which App Should You Choose? Summary by Profile
There is no single “best app for everyone.” The ideal choice depends on what you value most:
| Your profile | Recommended app | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Want to automate everything with AI | Monely | WhatsApp AI + advanced OCR |
| Prefer detailed manual tracking | Mobills | Robust categorization + mature reports |
| Want simplicity above all else | Organizze | Minimal interface, easy to use. But no free tier anymore |
| Manage finances in multiple countries | Wallet | 15,000+ institutions and global bank sync |
| Want to track spending without logging anything | Wallet, or PicPay in Brazil | GuiaBolso shut down in 2022 and its tools moved into PicPay |
| Managing finances as a couple | Monely | Proportional splitting by income |
| Cannot stand ads | Monely or Organizze | Monely runs no ads on any plan; Organizze runs none because it has no free plan |
How Monely Can Help
If you decide to try Monely, these are the features that stand out most in daily use:
- Log expenses in seconds – Send “coffee 5 dollars” via WhatsApp and the transaction is created. No app to open, no menus, no forms.
- Smart receipt scanning – Photograph any receipt and Monely extracts the data automatically. Less manual typing.
- Shared finances – Create a shared group with your partner or family (up to 4 people) and get automatic proportional splitting based on each person’s income.
- On any device – Use it on your phone, on your tablet, and on your computer through the browser. Everything syncs in real time.
- Easy migration – Already using another app? Wallet, Minhas Finanças, Money Manager, Bluecoins, and Splital have direct importers for the files they export. From any other app, export a spreadsheet (CSV, TSV, XLS, or XLSX) or a bank statement (OFX or QFX).
- No interruptions – A clean experience from day one, with no ads on any plan.

Conclusion
Four of the five apps in this comparison are still valid options for organizing your personal finances, each strong in a different area. The fifth, GuiaBolso, shut down in 2022 and stays here only as a record.
Organizze works well for those seeking the basics without complication, provided they accept paying from day one. Wallet declares more than 15,000 connected institutions worldwide, the widest reach published by any app in this comparison. Mobills offers mature and reliable traditional tracking and, with the PRO tier, entered the WhatsApp assistant space too. And Monely combines WhatsApp AI, advanced OCR, and proportional splitting for couples and families in a single product.
Regardless of your choice, the most important thing is to start. Any of these apps is better than an abandoned spreadsheet or the mental tracking that never works. Whether you are building an emergency fund, saving for a down payment, or just trying to understand where your paycheck goes each month, the right app can make all the difference.
Begin with whatever fits your budget, see which one suits your routine, and organize your finances today.
Sources and Verification Date
App features change without notice, and a comparison without a date is a comparison without value. These are the pages consulted and the day each fact was checked. Subscription figures are deliberately absent from this article, because every store charges a different amount in every country: confirm yours on the app’s own page before subscribing.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best personal finance app in 2026?
It depends on what you need. For fast logging by WhatsApp AI and receipt OCR, Monely. For international bank sync, Wallet. For simplicity, Organizze, keeping in mind it no longer has a free tier. This is the 2026 edition, revised in August 2026; the current edition is the 2027 one.
What are the best apps to track expenses?
The 2026 edition of this comparison covered GuiaBolso, Organizze, Wallet (BudgetBakers), Mobills, and Monely. GuiaBolso shut down in November 2022 and is no longer an option: PicPay absorbed its tools. The other four are still running.
Which finance app has no ads?
Monely shows zero advertisements on any plan, including the free tier. Organizze shows none either, but for a different reason: it dropped its free tier in January 2022 and is now paid-only. Mobills and Wallet display ads on their free versions.
What is the best finance app for couples?
Monely offers shared groups with proportional expense splitting based on each person's income. We found that calculation in no official source of the other apps in this comparison. Wallet offers joint accounts, but no official BudgetBakers source describes splitting in proportion to income.
Which finance app has artificial intelligence?
Two of them. Monely has a WhatsApp AI assistant that understands text, voice, and receipt photos, included in the PRO and Family plans. Mobills added a WhatsApp AI assistant on its PRO tier, one step above Premium. For Organizze and Wallet we found no WhatsApp assistant in any official source, which is not the same as saying none exists.
Which finance app works on desktop?
On a computer, Monely runs in the browser at web.monely.app, with access on the PRO and Family plans, and on the free plan for as long as the welcome bonus lasts. There is no native Monely application for Windows, macOS, or Linux: the native apps are for Android and iOS.
Can I migrate data between finance apps?
Yes, with one caveat. Monely has direct importers for the files exported by five apps: Wallet (BudgetBakers), Minhas Finanças, Money Manager, Bluecoins, and Splital. There is no direct importer for Mobills or Organizze -- for those, you export a spreadsheet in CSV, TSV, XLS, or XLSX, or a bank statement in OFX or QFX. The other apps in this comparison offer limited import options.
Which finance app has bank synchronization?
Wallet (BudgetBakers) connects to more than 15,000 financial institutions worldwide; the company publishes the total, never the list, so check your own bank before subscribing. In Brazil, Mobills integrates accounts and cards through Open Finance on its paid tier, and Organizze connects to banks on its Conectado and Conectado Plus tiers. Monely does not do automatic bank sync, and that is a product decision, not a missing feature: logging happens by WhatsApp message, receipt photo, by hand, or by importing a file.
