5 Best Personal Finance Apps in the Second Half of 2026

5 Best Personal Finance Apps in the Second Half of 2026
In this article

Second half of 2026. This comparison was rebuilt in August 2026 and is the edition in force. The March edition stays online as an archive, because links already point to it.

A year changes a lot in an app comparison. One of the five apps from the previous edition simply stopped existing. Another switched off its free tier and started charging from day one. A third shipped the exact feature that had been described as a competitor’s exclusive.

So this is not the March article with the date changed. The lineup was rebuilt, every feature was checked on the app’s own official page, and every claim carries a source and a date at the bottom. What you will not find here is a subscription figure, and that is on purpose: where the sale goes through a store, the store sets the price country by country, and it moves without passing through any article. Compare here what each app delivers, then check what it costs on the app’s plans page or store listing, which is where the number is right for wherever you live.

How We Evaluated

To keep the comparison fair, we used 7 objective criteria with equal weight:

CriterionWhat we evaluated
FeaturesVariety and depth of the tools offered
Ease of useLearning curve and overall user experience
PlatformsNumber of supported devices and operating systems
InternationalizationAvailable languages and multi-currency support
PricingThe billing model: whether a free tier exists, how many tiers there are, and whether you can learn the price before subscribing
PrivacyPresence of ads and monetization model
InnovationDistinctive features and use of new technology

Transparency notice: this comparison is published by Monely, which is one of the apps being evaluated. Keep that in mind while reading. Everything we state about a competitor came from that company’s own official page, listed at the end with the date it was checked. No subscription figure appears in any row, ours included: where the sale goes through a store, the store publishes the price and the number differs in every country; where the company sells direct, as Organizze and Mobills do, the figure sits on the official plans page, which is also listed at the bottom with the date we checked it.

Comparison Table

Before the details, here is a quick side-by-side overview. Where a cell reads “not found”, here is what happened: we looked for the feature on the maker’s official pages on 11 Aug 2026, website and store listing included, and found no mention of it. We did not install the apps to test them, so if the feature exists elsewhere in the product, we did not locate it.

#5 Money Manager — Focus on Fast, Offline Logging

Money Manager, from South Korean developer Realbyte, is the quiet veteran of this list. It advertises no AI and no WhatsApp in any official source, and makes no marketing noise, but it solves the most basic problem competently: writing down what came in and what went out, fast, with a large number pad and without depending on a connection.

Key Features

  • Very fast manual entry, with a dedicated number pad
  • Asset and net-worth tracking, not just income and expenses
  • Monthly budget by category
  • Reports and tracking charts
  • Backup and cross-device sync by subscription
  • Available in 19 languages, per the App Store listing, with entries in multiple currencies

Pricing

  • Free: 10 accounts (App Store) or 15 (Google Play), with ads
  • Paid app: Money Manager (Remove Ads) is the ad-free version, sold as a one-time purchase on the App Store listing, checked on 11 Aug 2026. Realbyte’s help center describes that purchase as lifetime, not as a subscription
  • Subscription: the cross-device data sync service is billed separately, monthly or annually, and appears as an in-app purchase in both versions

What each of those purchases costs is on the app’s listing in your country’s store.

Pros

  • One of the fastest manual entry flows in any finance app
  • Works well without a constant connection
  • Tracks net worth, not only cash flow
  • Stable, predictable interface with no frequent redesigns
  • Dropping the ads is a one-time purchase, not another monthly subscription on the pile

Cons

  • We found no AI assistant, WhatsApp, or receipt OCR in any official source
  • We found no automatic bank sync in any official source
  • We found no income-proportional splitting for couples in any official source
  • The free version shows ads
  • Dated design compared to the competition
  • Cross-device sync is a separate subscription, on top of buying the ad-free app

Who is it ideal for

Money Manager is for people who log everything by hand and want to do it in as few taps as possible. If you already have the habit and only need a tool that stays out of the way, it delivers. Worth noting: Monely has a direct importer for the file it exports, so trying it is not a one-way trip.

#4 Organizze — Focus on Simplicity, Now Without a Free Tier

Organizze is still the cleanest interface on this list. The big change is not in the design, it is in the business model: the free version was discontinued in January 2022, and the app now has three paid tiers and no free way in, only a 7-day trial.

Key Features

  • Simple, intuitive interface with a clean design
  • Income and expense tracking with custom categories
  • Bill payment reminders
  • Simplified reports with charts
  • Bank connection with one-click import, on the Conectado tiers
  • Finance questions through an external AI agent, connecting ChatGPT, Claude, or Manus over MCP, per the Organizze help center
  • Its own Artificial Intelligence feature, flagged as new on the official plans page: it categorises on its own and scans receipts

Pricing

Tiers checked on the official plans page on 11 August 2026, which is where each figure is published. Organizze sells in Brazilian reais only.

  • Trial: 7 days on the Manual tier, no credit card required. There is no permanent free tier.
  • Manual: no bank connection. Monthly or annual, and the annual can be paid upfront by bank slip or in instalments.
  • Conectado: connects up to 3 accounts or cards.
  • Conectado Plus: up to 10 accounts or cards, business accounts included.

Note what separates the three tiers: bank connection and how many accounts you may link, not how much you are allowed to write down.

Pros

  • Extremely easy to use, with an almost flat learning curve
  • No advertising at all, since the model is entirely paid
  • Bank connection on the Conectado tiers, with daily updates
  • The annual tier takes a bank slip, for anyone who would rather not carry a recurring card charge
  • Well-regarded support in the Brazilian market

Cons

  • No free tier: after 7 days you either pay or lose access
  • We found no WhatsApp assistant in any official source
  • The plans page advertises receipt scanning, but does not say which of the three tiers it belongs to, nor what the scan extracts
  • We found no shared groups or couple features in any official source
  • Only 1 language on the App Store listing, and a single currency, the Brazilian real, per the help center
  • The entry tier does not connect to banks: the bank connection, which is the app’s real differentiator, only shows up a tier higher
  • The lowest monthly figure is only on the annual tier, which asks for a year’s commitment

Who is it ideal for

Organizze is for people who want the basics done well, in Portuguese, and do not mind paying from day one. If bank connection is what you are after, stepping up to Conectado makes sense. If you only want to log expenses, other apps on this same list do that without asking for a subscription on day one.

#3 Wallet by BudgetBakers — Focus on Global Coverage

Wallet, by BudgetBakers, remains the most international app in this comparison. The company claims connections to more than 15,000 financial institutions worldwide and around 50 languages. It publishes no currency count, though it does describe support for multiple currencies. For anyone holding accounts in more than one country, it is the most complete option here.

Key Features

  • Automatic bank sync with more than 15,000 institutions
  • Around 50 languages and support for multiple currencies, with exchange rates applied automatically
  • Investment and debt tracking
  • Detailed budgets with financial goals
  • Group sharing for household expenses
  • Category spending limits, with an alert as you approach the limit

Pricing

BudgetBakers keeps no public pricing page: budgetbakers.com/pricing/ returned 404 on 11 Aug 2026. The only official figures we found are the in-app purchases on the App Store listing, checked the same day, and they change from country to country.

  • Free: not verified in an official source. Neither the BudgetBakers pages nor the store listing told us what the free plan includes, or whether it shows ads
  • Premium: three different store purchases carry that same name, none of them stating a billing period, so there is no way to tell what you are comparing
  • 3-Year Premium and Lifetime Premium: two single-payment purchases, one running three years and one for good

Pros

  • Best bank synchronization in this comparison, by a wide margin
  • Widest language coverage in this comparison, around 50
  • Account-per-currency model with a consolidated home-currency view
  • Lifetime option for anyone who dislikes recurring subscriptions

Cons

  • We found no WhatsApp assistant in any official source
  • We found no income-proportional expense splitting in any official source
  • Ads on the free plan, and the limits of that plan: not verified in an official source, neither to assert them nor to rule them out
  • The interface can be too complex for beginners
  • The app does not read receipt photos, according to the BudgetBakers help center; for that you need to connect an external AI assistant through MCP
  • No public pricing page: the figures show up only as in-app purchases, and they change from country to country

Who is it ideal for

Wallet is for people who manage money across more than one country or currency. It is the right pick if automatic bank sync is non-negotiable for you. And if you ever want to switch, Wallet is one of the five apps with a direct importer in Monely: your history comes along.

#2 Mobills — Focus on Traditional Tracking, with AI at the Top

Mobills is one of the most established apps in the Brazilian market, and the news since the previous edition matters: alongside Premium there is now a PRO tier that includes a WhatsApp financial assistant powered by artificial intelligence. That is what ended the exclusivity Monely held on this feature.

Key Features

  • Detailed manual tracking with categories and subcategories
  • Bank statement import in OFX and spreadsheet import, per the help center
  • Monthly budget planning with per-category goals
  • Mature reports and charts
  • Educational financial content inside the app
  • Automatic bank integration through Open Finance, on the paid plan
  • WhatsApp AI assistant on the PRO tier, which understands natural language, categorizes spending, and sends reminders and summaries in the chat

Pricing

Tiers checked on the official pricing page on 11 August 2026, which is where the figure is published. Mobills sells in Brazilian reais.

  • Free: limited features, with ads
  • Premium: billed by the year, the only billing period the company publishes with a label
  • PRO: everything in Premium plus the WhatsApp AI assistant, with a 7-day trial. What it costs varies by campaign and is not published on a fixed page

Pros

  • Open Finance bank integration on the paid plan, with no need to import a file
  • Large user base and an active community
  • Detailed, well-built reports
  • OFX import makes bank reconciliation easier
  • Mature, stable interface
  • The WhatsApp assistant exists and works

Cons

  • The WhatsApp assistant sits on PRO, a step above Premium
  • PRO pricing is not published stably, which makes it hard to compare
  • Ads on the free plan
  • Only 6 languages on the Brazilian App Store listing, and one currency at a time, per the help center
  • We found no income-proportional splitting for couples in any official source
  • We found no receipt photo capture in any official source

Who is it ideal for

Mobills is for people who want detailed manual control, mature reports, and bank connection through Open Finance. If the WhatsApp assistant is what draws you in, check what PRO costs in the current campaign before deciding, because that number does not sit still.

#1 Monely — Focus on Automation and Money for Couples and Families

Monely takes first place in this edition for two reasons that survived the year: the WhatsApp AI assistant comes with the PRO plan alongside everything else that plan delivers, with nothing charged separately per feature, and income-proportional splitting remains a calculation we found in no official source of the other apps in this comparison.

Key Features

  • WhatsApp AI Assistant — Send “lunch 15 dollars” on WhatsApp and the transaction is created with category, amount, and date. Works with text, voice messages, and receipt photos.
  • Receipt OCR with Gemini Vision — Photograph a receipt and the app extracts amount, date, and description, then suggests the category.
  • Proportional Splitting for Couples and Families — Shared groups where expenses are split by each person’s income rather than down the middle.
  • Android, iOS, and the browser — Native apps for Android and iOS. On a computer, access is through the browser at web.monely.app.
  • 8 Languages, 155 Currencies, and Bitcoin — Meaningful international coverage for anyone earning or spending abroad.
  • Zero Ads — No advertisement on any plan, including the free tier.
  • Data Import — Direct importers for the files exported by five apps: Wallet (BudgetBakers), Minhas Finanças, Money Manager, Bluecoins, and Splital. From anywhere else, spreadsheets in CSV, TSV, XLS, or XLSX, and bank statements in OFX or QFX.

Pricing

There are four tiers, and what separates them is function, never quantity: none of them caps how much you may record.

  • Free: unlimited records and accounts, your own categories and subcategories, labels, templates, goals, charts, credit card, shared group, and cloud backup, with zero ads
  • ESSENTIAL: everything in Free, plus scheduled payments, card instalment purchases, and loan tracking
  • PRO: everything in ESSENTIAL, plus the daily AI-written insights, the WhatsApp assistant, browser access, attaching a receipt to a record, and recording investments
  • FAMILY: everything in PRO, for up to 4 people in the same shared group

A new account starts with a welcome bonus of 100 records of your own and, while it lasts, the full PRO experience.

What it costs in your country is on the plans page and on the subscription screen inside the app. We do not print the number here because the store sets it, and it is different in every country.

Pros

  • WhatsApp AI assistant on the PRO plan, next to receipt OCR and browser access, with nothing charged separately per feature
  • Receipt OCR with Gemini Vision, pulling amount, date, and description out of the photo; Organizze also publishes receipt scanning, without saying what it extracts, and the other three publish nothing
  • Income-proportional splitting, a calculation we found in no official source of any other app on this list
  • Zero ads on every plan, free tier included
  • Direct importer for the files exported by five competing apps
  • Card instalment purchases: you enter the purchase once, choose the number of instalments, and see the month-by-month preview and how much of the card limit it takes up
  • A free plan with no record cap: unlimited accounts and entries, usable for as long as you like
  • Usable on the phone and on the computer through the browser

Cons

  • No automatic bank sync, by product decision: logging happens by WhatsApp, receipt photo, by hand, or by file import
  • No category budgets with spending-limit alerts, by choice
  • Once the welcome bonus runs out, the WhatsApp assistant, the daily AI insights, and browser access fall outside the free plan
  • Fewer languages than Wallet (8 against roughly 50)
  • Newer app, with less road behind it than Mobills or Money Manager

Who is it ideal for

Monely is for people who want logging an expense to cost a message rather than a form, and for couples splitting bills on unequal incomes. If you need automatic bank sync, Wallet solves that better. If what stops you is the friction of writing things down, this is the path.

Which App Should You Choose? Summary by Profile

There is no single best app for everyone. The choice depends on what weighs most for you:

Your profileRecommended appWhy
Want to log an expense in secondsMonelyWhatsApp AI and receipt OCR, on the PRO plan
Managing money as a couple on unequal incomesMonelyIncome-proportional splitting
Cannot stand adsMonely or OrganizzeMonely runs none on any plan; Organizze runs none because it has no free plan
Need automatic bank synchronizationWalletMore than 15,000 institutions worldwide
Living abroad or using several currenciesMonely or WalletMonely is in 8 languages and works with 155 currencies plus Bitcoin, converting between them. Wallet publishes around 50 languages.
Prefer manual control with strong reportsMonely or MobillsIn Monely you can record by hand only, with a distribution chart, period-over-period comparison, a record list you can label, and detailed plans. Mobills has robust categorization, mature reports, and Open Finance on the paid plan.

What Changed Since the 2026 Edition

If you read the previous edition, these are the points that aged badly and why. The 2026 edition was corrected on the same day this one was published, but here is the summary.

  • GuiaBolso left the list because it stopped existing. The app shut down in November 2022 after PicPay absorbed its tools. It held 5th place in the previous edition and was replaced by Money Manager.
  • Organizze no longer has a free tier. The previous edition described a single paid plan alongside a free version. There are now three paid tiers, separated by bank connection and by how many accounts you may link, and the free version ended in January 2022.
  • Mobills launched the PRO tier with a WhatsApp AI assistant. That knocked down the exclusivity claim Monely held on this feature. Premium is still the lower step, and the assistant only comes with the higher one.
  • The figures are out of the article. Where the sale goes through a store, the price is set country by country and moves without passing through here, so any number written on this page would be wrong for someone reading it from somewhere else. The comparison is now about what each app delivers, and you check the figure on each maker’s plans page.
  • Wallet’s figures were wrong. The previous edition understated the languages and attributed to Wallet a currency count that actually belongs to Monely. BudgetBakers publishes around 50 languages and more than 15,000 connected banking institutions, and publishes no currency count: bank coverage is measured in institutions rather than countries.
  • Mobills does have bank synchronization, and the previous edition said it did not. The table treated file import as its only route. The official pricing page and the help center describe automatic account and card integration through Open Finance. The same revision replaced the language count with 6, which is what the Brazilian App Store listing shows, and the vague “limited” on currencies with one currency at a time, which is what the help center answers.
  • The receipt capture attributed to Mobills and Wallet is gone. No official Mobills source mentions that feature, and the BudgetBakers help center says the Wallet app does not read receipt photos. Where there is no source, this edition writes that we did not find one, instead of a yes or a no with nothing behind it.
  • Monely’s list of import formats was wrong. PDF and TXT are not accepted. Spreadsheets go in as CSV, TSV, XLS, or XLSX, and bank statements as OFX or QFX.

Sources and Verification Date

A comparison without a date is a comparison without value. These are the pages consulted and the day each fact was checked. No subscription figure goes into this article on purpose: it changes with the country and without notice. Before subscribing to anything, confirm the number on the app’s own page or store listing.

Conclusion

The five apps in this edition solve different problems, and the choice gets simpler once you decide which friction you want gone.

If the friction is writing things down, Monely answers with the WhatsApp assistant and receipt OCR. If the friction is reconciling accounts across countries, Wallet answers with real bank synchronization. If the friction is reconciling what already went through the bank, Mobills answers with Open Finance, category budgets, and mature reports on the paid plan. If you already log everything by hand and just want speed, Money Manager delivers. And if you want the basics done well in Portuguese and accept paying from day one, Organizze is the answer.

What does not change from year to year is the boring part: any of these apps only works if you use it. Start with whatever fits your budget, give it a full month before judging, and only then decide whether switching is worth it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best personal finance app in the second half of 2026?

It depends on what you value. For logging an expense in seconds by WhatsApp AI or a receipt photo, Monely. For international bank sync, Wallet. For mature traditional reports, Mobills. For simplicity, Organizze, keeping in mind it has no free tier. This article compares all five in detail, on what each one delivers, with an official source and a date behind every claim.

Does GuiaBolso still exist?

No. The app shut down in November 2022, after PicPay, which had bought the company in 2021, folded its tools into its own app. That is why it left this edition. The 2026 edition still listed it, which is why that edition was corrected.

Which finance apps have a WhatsApp AI assistant?

Two of the five. Monely includes a WhatsApp AI assistant in its PRO plan, and it understands text, voice, and receipt photos. Mobills offers a WhatsApp AI assistant on its PRO tier, one step above Premium, with a 7-day trial.

Which finance app has no ads?

Monely shows no advertisement on any plan, including the free tier. Organizze shows none either, but because its model is entirely paid: there has been no free tier since January 2022. Mobills and Wallet display ads on their free versions. Money Manager sells a paid version whose main promise is removing the ads.

What is the best finance app for couples in the second half of 2026?

Monely, because of income-proportional splitting: in a shared group, whoever earns more contributes proportionally more, instead of splitting everything down the middle. We found no official source describing that calculation in any of the other four apps in this comparison. Wallet has joint accounts, but no official BudgetBakers source describes income-proportional splitting.

Which finance app works on desktop?

On a computer, Monely runs in the browser at web.monely.app, with access on the PRO and Family plans, and on the free plan for as long as the welcome bonus lasts. There is no native Monely application for Windows, macOS, or Linux: the native apps are for Android and iOS.

Can I migrate data between finance apps?

Yes, with one caveat. Monely has direct importers for the files exported by five apps: Wallet (BudgetBakers), Minhas Finanças, Money Manager, Bluecoins, and Splital. There is no direct importer for Mobills or Organizze -- for those, you export a spreadsheet in CSV, TSV, XLS, or XLSX, or a bank statement in OFX or QFX.

Which finance app has bank synchronization?

Wallet (BudgetBakers) connects to more than 15,000 financial institutions worldwide; the company publishes the total, never the list, so check your own bank before subscribing. In Brazil, Mobills integrates accounts and cards through Open Finance on its paid tier, and Organizze connects to banks on its Conectado and Conectado Plus tiers. Monely does not do automatic bank sync, and that is a product decision, not a missing feature: logging happens by WhatsApp message, receipt photo, by hand, or by importing a file.
